Educational Rooms
at Robyn Jane

The names of our program rooms are taken from the Woiwurrung language which was traditionally spoken and is being reclaimed today by the Wurundjeri people, who inhabited the land along the Yarra and Maribyrnong Rivers.

Children are allocated to their group

Children are allocated to their group depending on their calendar age, developmental and social readiness.  We use the same cut-off date as Victorian Schools, i.e.  30th April to first evaluate the best group for each child.  Children then generally remain in their designated groups until such time that a vacancy exists in the next program.  Educators also assess if the child is considered developmentally and/or socially/emotionally ready to move groups (not necessarily calendar age), also taking into consideration the group dynamics. Educators’ however will be responsive to children who express a desire to be with siblings and create opportunities for interaction.

Our Preschool and Kindergarten programs are implemented by 4-year degree trained early childhood teachers who run the program from Monday to Friday.
